Kitchen Remodeling: Pimp it Out

Daria Nepriakhina

Kitchen remodeling is notorious for being expensive, but not all projects have to break the piggy bank.

The average kitchen renovation runs between about $20,000-$50,000, depending on how serious of an overhaul it is. But you can really get more bang for less buck using these easy-to-follow tips that I’m about to share with you.

In a lot of families, the kitchen area becomes the common area, the place where everyone gets together to converse, have a snack, or just relax, at least it happens in my family, thus you always want it to look good, clean and welcoming.

Being the area that is used the most, you expose it to a lot of open and closing drawers, liquid spills, and whatnot; therefore, it’s the area that needs constant attention.

Even more, if you are planning on selling or renting your house, but don’t despair, here at beycome, we will give you some useful tips to save money while making this extent of your house look incredible.

Paint Them, Don’t Replace them

A makeover doesn’t necessarily mean replacing those depressed cabinets. You can clean them up and brush on some new paint—and within a weekend take that kitchen from boring to sunny.
Usually, cabinets get that dark color due to the amount of dust they collected, also the paint gets old, sucking up all the light out of the room, but as I said a brighter makeover doesn’t necessarily mean replacing those gloomy boxes as long as the frames and doors are structurally sound, you can just clean them real good and brush some new paint, my recommendation a bright color, to light up your new space.

Have in Mind What You Want

Some people believe they need to replace the whole kitchen including the sink, for this area to have a better more modern look.
Nowadays the new wave of renters and buyers, millennials, are looking for that vintage type of look, so you might want to keep some of the original retro details of your kitchen like the stainless-steel sink and metal handles. Changing or just painting some of the surfaces of your kitchen will help you save big money.

Get Dirty and DIY

You don’t need to call “The Guy” for every situation that you might have at home, there are some things that you can go to the mattress and “Do It Yourself” you will be saving money and you’ll make sure the finish is exactly what you are looking for.
Nowadays you find how to fix everything on the internet.

Space is a Good Thing

Have you ever seen in movies how they hang pots from the ceiling? Well, that has a reason, space.
Hang a pot rack with fresh new pots, pans, and a hanging wine bottle holder. With the rolling island,  kitchen inspiration will catch every buyer’s eye. You can take some of these things with you to your new home too in case you’ll miss them.

 Go vertical

Vertical shelving will maximize your space, you can use them to hold some containers which you can fill with spices, grains, or even paper towels, also since we are talking about being vertical; how about a double magnetic knife holder? They are not expensive at all and look so cool also they are super useful and handy if you like to spend some time cooking; Just be extra careful if you have kids running around this area.
