What is Recording Fee?

Recording fee is a charge that the recorder's office imposes for recording and registering the legal documents. It is usually a small amount of money and it's required to be paid in order to register legal documents and make them a matter of public record. This fee is usually required by the government to cover the cost of maintaining the records, and is usually paid at the time of recording.
