Stay safe during open houses and property visits
Visiting a home or attending an open house is exciting. You may feel one step closer to owning your dream home. Still, you are entering an unfamiliar space, often alone, and safety should always come first. That is exactly why Beycome created the Safety Timer.
The Safety Timer adds an extra layer of protection during property visits. It works in a simple, practical way and gives peace of mind to buyers, renters, and anyone touring a property.
What is the Beycome Safety Timer
The Safety Timer is a built-in tool inside your Beycome account. You use it when attending an open house or private showing. Once you start the timer, a countdown begins. If everything goes as planned, you stop the timer when you leave.
If something goes wrong and you cannot stop the timer, the system automatically sends an alert. Your emergency contact receives both an email and a text message with your location. This feature ensures that someone you trust knows where you are and can act quickly if needed.
Simple, smart, and reassuring.
How the Safety Timer works
When you arrive at a property, you start the timer. The countdown runs in the background while you tour the home. If you leave safely, you stop the timer and nothing else happens.
If the timer reaches zero and you do not stop it, the system assumes you may need help. At that moment, Beycome sends an alert to the emergency contact you selected. The message includes the address you entered for the visit.
This process runs automatically and does not require any extra action during the visit.
How to set up the Safety Timer
Setting up the Safety Timer only takes a few minutes.
Log into your account on beycome.com. From there, go to My Dashboard, then click Tools, and select Safety Timer.

Read the summary at the top of the page before continuing.

Next, go down to the “Current showing address” box and type in the address you will be visiting.

Type in the phone number and email for the emergency contact you want to have notified.

The emergency contact should be someone you know is available at the time of the open house and must be able to receive email and text. Once done, click the Save changes button to save the information.
Look right at the Safety Timer section to setup the timer

The three boxes with the numbers in them are the hours, minutes, and seconds

Setting and using the timer
Once your information is saved, look at the Safety Timer section. You will see three boxes for hours, minutes, and seconds.
Enter the amount of time you expect to spend at the property. When you arrive, click Start timer to begin the countdown.
If you need more time during the visit, click + 5 minutes to extend the timer. You can add time as needed.
When you leave the property, click Stop timer to end the countdown.
That’s it.
A quick safety reminder
The Safety Timer is a support tool, not an emergency service. If you ever face immediate danger, do not try to contact Beycome. Always call 911 in an emergency.
The Beycome Safety Timer is easy to access, simple to use, and designed to help you feel more secure while exploring properties. Smart tools make smarter, safer real estate decisions.
