I just closed my second property with Homecoin. This is the perfect listing company for me since I don’t need any help. The only thing is when you get an offer, the buyer’s agent alway writes Homecoin in their contract as the seller’s agent. Which I had to write an amendment stating that Homecoin is only the listing agent and NOT the seller’s agent in the sale of my property. The buyer’s agent and escrow officer intially had an issue since the MLS listing has Homecoin as an agent. I told them that Homecoin will not sign any documents related to the sale of the property. They will if you pay them. I told buyer’s agent and escrow to check with their company attorney. Of course, I was right. I love Homecoin and will probably use them for the sale of my third property.
The biggest issue with Homecoin is their next-to-non-existent customer support. Their website provides a phone number, but you will NEVER get to talk to anyone over the phone. It leads you to a voicemail that instructs you to email them.
Next, they provide texting. But that doesn’t work either. I’ve texted multiple occasions without a response.
If you email them, prepare for them to take 24+ hours to respond IF they respond at all. My sense is there is one guy running the company and he outsources the support to those overseas. I say that because response usually come at odd hours of the night. These agents don’t know MLS rules and regulations therefore they can’t provide much support. I’ve had multiple instances where my messages go unanswered.
Also, if you’re listing a property, give yourself a weeks head start. Even if you submit ALL documents (sq ft document, disclosures, etc), it will take Homecoin a solid 5+ days to fulfill the order. It’s a slow process.
Beycome has a great support hotline and you’ll talk to someone state side, but they have their issues as well. That’s for another review.
