Wynwood Real Estate trend in 2018

Wynwood Real Estate

Anyone who conducted business in Wynwood two decades ago, might be surprised to see the renaissance that Miami’s trendiest neighborhood has undergone. However, anyone who has visited in recent years, won’t be surprised. The arts and entertainment scene has exploded in this former industrial district, making it a hot destination for anyone in Miami looking for some great drinks, excellent meals, and exciting events. As the density of recreational attractions increases in Wynwood, the demand for real estate has grown right alongside it. With one quick look at the Wynwood events calendar you’ll understand why this neighborhood was named one of TripAdvisors Coolest Hipster Neighborhoods in the country. Home to some of the best breweries, dance clubs, and shops in the city, Wynwood is a spot you won’t want to skip. Take a look at this article for ideas on things to do in Wynwood, restaurants to eat at, bars and taprooms where you can sample the local flavor, or just find an excuse to wander the colorful neighborhoods and admire the numerous murals that line the streets of this neighborhood.

Residential Real Estate

As visitors pour into Wynwood for a taste of the nightlife, a walk through the Arts District, or a visit to one of Miami’s best restaurants, residential property values have skyrocketed. Among the beautiful murals and pop-up shops, are some amazing spots that would be great to call home. There are many property types on the market, from condos to full-size single family homes, available for those looking to settle in Wynwood.

Commercial Real Estate

As Wynwood continues to grow, the commercial opportunities grow along with it. It seems that there is a new grand opening every day for a retail shop, restaurant, or events space. This influx of traffic has led to a substantial increase in commercial real estate values, but it’s easy to understand why this is such a great destination for a commercial space. Each Wynwood event brings a surge of people into the neighborhood, intent on exploring the stores, the tastes, and the local flavor of this unique and growing area.

Food and Drink in Wynwood

A decade ago, Wynwood wasn’t even a consideration when it came to getting a delicious meal or cocktail. Recently, though, it’s become a destination with a host of unique restaurants and bars. Check out this list of hot spots to visit when you are in Wynwood:

ALTER

Alter is a casual, industrial-styled Restaurant with concrete walls, subtle neon accents, and an outstanding menu by chef Bradley Kilgore. Kilgore was a James Beard finalist for Best Chef in 2018, and a taste from Alter’s menu makes it easy to understand why. Much of the menu focuses on Florida-native seafood, vegetables, fruits, and produce, and boasts a stunning array of wines. There are plenty of delicious vegan options, as well. Alter embodies the Wynwood aesthetic perfectly with its juxtaposition of industrial design and artsy accents, and is always a good choice for a great meal.

THREE

Located in the Wynwood Arcade and headed by chef Norman Van Aken, Three offers a meticulously-crafted three- and four-course prix fixe menu or chef’s menu (small plates are available in the upstairs, chilled-out No. 3 Social), as well as an excellent Sunday brunch. No. 3 Social also provides great views on Wynwood from a breezy, comfortable rooftop lounge. Whether you choose a relaxed drink in the lounge or a world-class experience from the menu, you’re making a good choice.

ZAK THE BAKER

For a more casual stop with incredible, kosher sandwiches, Zak the Baker is the place to be. A rotating menu of “toasts” (open-faced sandwiches), homemade breads, delicious soup of the day, and a variety of salads makes Zak’s a rewarding stop. Zak’s menu is fully kosher, meaning that patrons have choices between delicious dairy, fish, vegetable, and egg plates. They are open 7-7 every day except Saturday, when they are closed. We’d recommend swinging by at any hour of the day, because the bread is delicious with any of the menu options, and Zak has a glorious beard, worth admiring in person.

In addition to their great selection of restaurants, Wynwood is home to some colorful taprooms, breweries, and bars. For some casual hangouts and tasty drinks, check out the following locations:

GRAMPS

If you’re looking for a divey, hip spot with karaoke, great beers, and delicious cocktails, look no further than Gramps. Also: pizza! In addition to the bites and drinks, Gramps boasts live music and comedy acts. We’d be remiss to not mention that Gramps also has COLD air conditioning, as they prominently point out on the front of the building and the top of their website. This is an all-around great stop in the Art District, and a gem of Wynwood.

WYNWOOD BREWING COMPANY

If you’re into craft beers and local flavor, swing into Wynwood Brewing Company for their mellow taproom and delicious craft menu. Be warned: there is no food served in the bar, but luckily food trucks are never hard to find in the area. Every beer on the menu is delicious, and we recommend trying them all. This is a great place to hang out with friends, meet a Tinder date, or catch up with old friends over delicious brews.

EL PATIO

Get some fresh air and Latin vibes at this unique outdoor bar. Owner Nicolas Hoyos has created a great homage to his homeland of Colombia with imported furniture and a resident DJ spinning a mix of funky tunes with a Latin influence to keep the room moving. El Patio has the (in our opinion) best happy hour in Wynwood and an extensive drink menu that satisfies all tastes. In a neighborhood as dynamic as Wynwood, El Patio stands alone as a truly different experience. If you’re looking for a spot that embodies what we love about Wynwood, put El Patio at the top of your list.

Wynwood Events

The events scene in Wynwood is just one more thing that sets this neighborhood apart in the eclectic city of Miami. On any given day, a trip to the area means you’ll find one of these endless Wynwood events. There is always something happening between gallery expos, live music, or other performances. If you are heading to Wynwood for an event, give yourself some extra time before or after to tour the vibrant streets, admire the beautiful murals, and enjoy the evolution of this neighborhood over the past decade.

In addition to performance events and gallery showings, the recent boom in Wynwood has led to a large influx of retail shops. Many newly opened shops have Grand Opening events that just add to the festive and welcoming atmosphere in Wynwood.
