What is Braced Framing?

Braced Framing is a method of constructing a building's walls to provide lateral stability and resist wind and seismic forces. This method uses diagonal framing members called "bracing" that are placed on the exterior or interior of the walls to add strength and stability. This method is used in areas with moderate seismic or wind loads, and can be more cost-effective than other forms of lateral load resisting systems.
