What is Earthquake Insurance?

Earthquake insurance is a type of insurance that provides coverage for damage to a property or for personal injuries caused by an earthquake. Earthquake insurance is often not included in standard home or renter's insurance policies, and it may be purchased as an endorsement or a separate policy. Earthquake insurance may cover a variety of damages, such as structural damage, personal property damage, and loss of use, and it may also cover additional living expenses if a property is deemed uninhabitable due to earthquake damage. Earthquake insurance is typically available in areas that are prone to earthquakes, and it may be subject to deductible and coverage limits.
