What is Regulation Z?

Regulation Z is a federal regulation that implements the Truth in Lending Act (TILA). It requires lenders to disclose the terms and conditions of consumer credit to the borrowers, including the APR (Annual Percentage Rate), the total finance charge, and the total number of payments. It also provides certain protections for consumers, such as the right to cancel certain types of credit transactions and the prohibition of certain practices such as loan flipping.
