What is Servicer?

A servicer is a company that manages the day-to-day operations of a mortgage loan on behalf of the lender or investor who owns the loan. This includes tasks such as collecting payments from the borrower, managing the escrow account, and handling default and foreclosure procedures. Servicers play an important role in the secondary mortgage market, as they are responsible for the servicing of loans that have been sold to investors.
